Special Edition TAG Heuer Carerra 1887 Space X commemorating the 50th anniversary of the first Swiss Watch in space. In February 1962 US Astronaut John Glenn piloted the "Friendship 7" spacecraft on its triple orbit of the Earth. This was a first for NASA and was a pivotal moment in the race to reach the moon in the 1960s.
Glenn was equipped with a Heuer 2915A Stopwatch that was strapped to his arm with a makeshift band to protect it from the obvious stresses of space exploration. Inspiration for the Space X is drawn directly from the Heuer 2915 A and can be seen in the design of the dial.
