In the 1930s two Portuguese businessmen challenged IWC to produce a wristwatch with marine chronometer accuracy. By 1939 IWC had created a timeless classic that has become one of the world’s most popular timepieces. The Portuguese collection combines traditional nautical instruments with progressive contemporary mechanics. From their home in Schaffhausen IWC make some of the most accurate automatic movements in the world.
