Maurice Lacroix History
Maurice Lacroix was founded in 1985 as part of the Desco von Schulthess Company. Desco is a much older company with a history in the silk trade. Since WWII Desco has shown a much higher interest in luxury watches and has represented many brands. Desco began to market watches under the name Maurice Lacroix in 1975 – the name does not refer to any particular person.
Maurice Lacroix has a clear objective: meeting the traditionally high standards of Swiss watchmaking precision and creating innovative in-house complications and movements. In 2006 the company introduced its first fully in-house movement, the calibre ML 106. Despite being relatively young Maurice Lacroix now retails in over 60 countries. The Les Classiques, Fiaba, Pontos and Masterpiece collections offer excellent value for money and are contributing to Maurice Lacroix’s meteoric rise.
