Hublot has unveiled a new watch, dedicated to Usain Bolt "the fastest man in the world" and a Hublot brand ambassador. Alongside distinguishing features, such as Bolt's 'lightning pose' sketched into an anthracite grey transfer on the black dial at 9 o'clock, the strap is also made from the same leather as the shoes Bolt wore when he broke the 100 & 200m world records in Beijing in 2008.
Usain Bolt took the London 2012 Olympics by storm at the weekend, setting a new Olympic record of 9.63 seconds in the 100m.
Hublot revealed the new watch has been developed in close consulation with the star, chairman Jean-Claude Biver said: "It's perfectly natural to be associated with the fastest man, not just on the planet, but the fastest since the Big Bang."
Bolt said he wanted the 48mm watch to be a fusion of the symbols that represent everything he holds dear. The micro-blasted black ceramic watch features dashes of gold and a silhouette of Bolt on the sapphire case back. The chronograph movement features a central 60-second hand and a 30-minute counter at 3 o'clock. A 12-hour chronograph sits as 6 o'clock and is a decorated with a touch of green, a nod to the colours of the Jamaican flag.
