Breitling have shocked the world by announcing David Beckham as their latest ambassador and the face of the new Transocean Chronograph Unitime. The campaign establishes a long-term partnership between the innovative Swiss brand and one of the worlds most recognisable style icons.
Breitling are committed to creating and developing watches for the aviation world. The Transocean Chronograph Unitime is a salute to the classic Transocean watches of the 1950s and 60s but also points to the future of the company by including Breitling's latest in-house movement, the Calibre B05.
The advertising campaign features a highly evocative photo shoot by renowned American photographer Anthony Mandler. In the shoot, Beckham is seen standing in front of a private jet on the runway of the Mojave Air & Space Port in California wearing his steel mesh Transocean Chronograph Unitime.
The decision to use Beckham has raised some eyebrows and will certainly turn heads, but his global reach and success on both sides of the Atlantic provide Breitling with a great platform on which to drive forward this beautiful range of travel watches.
Beckham joins John Travolta as the latest high profile celebrity to endorse Breitling watches. "I've always been a long-time admirer of Breitling", said David Beckham. "As a company they create not only the highest-performance watches but also timeless designs that have inspired generations. It was a natural choice for me to partner with this fantastic brand."
