The Watch Gallery is very excited to announce the UK exclusive launch of the new Baume & Mercier Clifton collection. Inspired by the fifties, Baume & Mercier delved into its archives to design this stunning new collection, with classic-looking simple, clean dials and a distinctly vintage feel.
We interviewed Baume & Mercier designer Sara Josephine Sandmeier at this year's international luxury watch event SIHH in Geneva, to discover more about what went into designing the new Clifton range.

Sara said: "Baume & Mercier always starts a new collection with the inspiration of a museum piece. This year it was a watch from the golden fifties, a high period for watchmaking." Characterisitic to many pieces in the new Clifton collection, Sara explained, is the slim style case, satin polish finish, dome-shaped glass dial, open case back and either a hand wound mechanical or automatic movement which sits on a stylish alligator strap, very similar to the look and finish of a fifties watch. Sara focuses on the 18-carat Rose Gold M0A10058 when explaining the feel of the collection.
