Tag Heuer - 150 Years
Tag Heuer just threw a 150th birthday celebration in downtown Tokyo. It
was just one stop in the exhibition which will then move on to Los Angeles, Las
Vegas, Miami, and New York. Not only were a number of VIPs on hand, but so was
the incredible Tag Heuer Tesla Roadster. It was a night of celebration in which
famous Japanese actress Anne Watanbe was on hand. She drove the Tesla and
brought the Tag Heuer Pendulum to the bash. Known as the “Lady Formula 1,” the
actress complimented the piece for its appeal to women and its ability to
accessorize with her red Prada dress. Jack Heuer himself attended, and made a
speech that served to reflect upon Tag Heuer’s accomplishment over the last
century and a half. Jack noted specifically how his leadership emulated that of
both his father and his grandfather. His initiatives helped to build the brand
into what it is today. Additionally, he praised the new ownership of the
company, also crediting it with turning Tag Heuer into a world-recognized luxury
sport Swiss watchmaker. Heuer also complimented Japan as well, and reminisced
about his first trip to the country in 1972. The guests were also treated to an
excellent performance by Japanese drummer Shonosuke Okura. This individual is a
member of one of Japan’s musical drum families, an entertainer whose craft has
been preserved since the 14th century. The spectators truly witnessed a rare and
deeply cultural performance. The exhibition remained in downtown Tokyo for three
days, and was open to the public. Tag Heuer deserves credit for using the
celebration as an opportunity to highlight not just the sustainable, electric
Tesla vehicle, but for the inclusion of its fans at the event. But for those
other diehards across the world, they’ll have their chance too; the Tesla and
Tag Heuer are traveling all over the world together.
